I uploaded to Snapfish a photo of a switch from a Johnson Ranger with a
completely
unsoldered wire attached. It is a very good reminder of why one needs to
check
EVERY area of a boatanchor. I was removing the xtal, etc switch from my
parts Ranger for a list member and, after removal, noticed the totally
unsoldered wire connected to one of the lugs on the switch. Not sure where
this one went but I am wondering if the was the reason why this particular
Ranger was relegated to a parts unit. One can only attempt to realize the
problems this one error in kit making caused any tech who tried to work on
this rig.
The moral of the story is check everything and recheck. This was on the
bottom area of the switch (which is probably why it was never noticed) so it
gives everyone a good idea of what is out there.
