[Johnson] Ranger 1 Question/Problem

My personal opinion is that you can do either and it will work great.  The bigger deal is changing the resistor power from 2 watts to something much more than that.  I moved mine out of the VFO cabinet, others have left theirs in the cabinet. Personally I don't think it makes much difference.   Someone on here took some precision measurements which I believe suggest better precision by leaving it in.  But the Ranger VFO is not a precision instrument so the drift from inside vs outside is probably not important.  Jess my opinion. 

Since you've already made the change, why not just leave it as is.
