[Johnson] Solid-Staing the Ranger P.S.

Hi Tim,

Not to be funny, or anything, but why would you want to solid state your Ranger power supplies anyway...?

All you'll accomplish is putting more strain on already tired, old internal components---worse yet, the function switch is darn close already to the "ragged edge" with the tube-type rectifier...by going solid state, the thing will start arcing-over on you, & eventually you'll have a carbon traced component that is near-impossible to replace.

Stick to the old bottles, the way it was originally designed---if you don't like the excessive heat, place a small Boxer-type fan atop the enclosure to help dissipate it.

I say all this only because I. too, once solid-stated the supplies of MY Ranger, when I had it...ended-up returning to hollow-state for these very reasons!
