[Johnson] Paint

What I use is computer matched acryllic paint from
Sherwin-Williams. It runs just over $10 for a quart
and about $30 for a gallon. Cleans up with water.
However, unless your particular Sherwin-Williams has
the capability of loading spray cans (some do, some
don't) which does add to the cost, you will need some
sort of paint gun.

So far, every cabinet that I have taken them has been
matched "perfectly". I do use satin finish which is
pretty darn close to the original finish on most
cabinets.

Acryllic paint is about $1 a quart more expensive than
enamel. However, it is MUCH harder in finish than
enamel. Dries in about the same time (dry to the
touch in less than 20 minutes on average) and dry
enough to ship in less than 24 hours.

I haven't had the Johnson cabinet paint matched but
have the Heath Apache green, DX-35 gray, Collins St.
James Gray, one of the Heath SB-Line cabinet colors
(there are at least 5 different colors that were used
by Heath on the SB-Line), Collins S-Line gray and
S-Line trim. My local Sherwin-Williams store is used
to me bringing in boat anchor cabinets to get the
paint matched!

The 122 VFOs that I have seen had a gray cabinet
originally.

Is there a source for paint. I need to finish a
Challenger cabinet. My order to NC Totalelectronics
looks like it's not going to happen.

Also, what is the original cabinet color for the 122 VFO?
