[Johnson] Modifying radios

I agree with Lee, actually. I know this is an ongoing debate, but modifying 
radios is not such a good idea. What mods I make nowadays have to do with 
safety, or with longevity, but not much else. Examples: Properly grounded 
cords, or properly fused radios. That's a good idea. Or dropping a series 
resistor into the primary of a filament transformer to keep from frying the 
filaments in tubes because the line voltage is so high these days. Those are 
the mods I will make. (And how many really stupid mods have we all seen in 
rigs we have acquired? Good grief! There have been some dumb hams out there 
over the years -- and maybe we are among them.)

And now that I think about it, I think I was running those 807s in my Viking 
II in AB2 -- and not Class B. Memory is getting faulty here.
