Dear W5YE: Please be sure to read the three articles published several years
ago in ELECTRIC RADIO MAGAZINE about the Viking Two and how to improve the
audio and keying. - Sherrill W. k4OWN

Subject: [Johnson] Multimeter for Viking II

I am restoring a Viking II. It appears from the information in the
manual that I may have a radio that has had its meter replaced with
one that is not of proper value. My meter only goes to 500 volts max.
According to the manual, the PA plate voltage should be 660 volts.
This also makes it difficult to set the grid bias properly, since all
of the numerals will be out of range. Does anyone have a proper
meter for the Viking II, or a suggestion ?

Thanks in advance for any help.
