You could put in the mod that was in Electric Radio that added a variable
solid-state control of the 6146 screen supply. Then you could control the
output of the Ranger into the Thunderbolt. You could also run the 6146
off the low voltage supply. Drops the output down to approx 15 watts.
When making the 3 or 6 db pad of resistors, unless they're nonreactive
resistors, you may have some reactive problems on some frequencies.
Definitely don't use wire-wound resistors. I originally built my pad out
of 2 watt carbon resistors. It got real warm on 15 and 10 meters.
