Guys I agree that the three wire cords are the way to go. It may destroy the
pristine Valiant I have but it's safer.

I would like to add one note:
When you add a new line cord please remember to put the black wire in line
with the on/off switch.
This prevents 110 VAC at the T/R switch when the rigs plugged in.

In other words switch the hot side not neutral.  Believe me or not I have
seen a number of these.

It's just like the old "cold chassis TV's"  without the isolation blocks.
