[Johnson] Ranger II 6 meter question

I am nearing restoration of a Ranger II that I'm doing for a friend. Changed the 5R4 rectifier and 6146 tube and good great output from 160 thru 6. However, I noticed this during an inspection of the interior. Whenever I turn the bandswitch to 6 meters, the 5763 driver starts to glow slightly cherry red (unkeyed). Key down, the glow goes away. I suspect that the 5763 grabs it's power from the bandswitch when put on 6 meters but somehow, it's not biased in a cutoff condition. Is this glow normal or what could be the problem? Just checking if anyone has seen this before. Thanks. Cal. N6KYR.
