[Johnson] a question

It is interesting to see how the Viking II is shaking down. I am not =
surprised that there are some problem cropping up because this is the =
first time in 20 or more years this transmitter has been all the way up =
to temperature and under load. Even though I checked them I think the =
resistors in the parasitic suppressors on the plate caps when heated up =
are chancing value. I have one 6146 that still arcs over but it is the =
one in the socket to the front of the radio that does it. The only =
thing these 6146's do not have in common are these parasitic =
suppressors. The resistors are, of course, carbon composites. I know =
any kind of wire wound resistor is a gigantic no no. Can I use a metal =
film. I think I can get the carbons but if not Houge Electronics does =
have high temperature metal film resistors.
