Phil.....the plating on the wire just helps prevent corrosion on the
copper wire at these frequencies. Plain copper wire would work ok. You
could tin the copper wire then wipe while hot with a rag to pseudo-tin
it......hey, a new word!

You can measure the remaining original coil wire with calipers and then
use the Handbook to convert to AWG.
