Hi Roy,
Thanks for some really concise information. I have never found it in such a
complete form befire. I have printed it out and will put it on by bench clip
board for easy reference when restoring heavy marine devices, as well as
those not so heavy.
Like you, I believe insafety first. There is virtually no 3 wire and fuse
holder installation that cannot be put back to original configuration if the
rig is sold to a purist. Meanwhile, I will hopefully live to see another
day.
While I was in college, I worked a couple of summers in the electrical
department of a large industrial plant. EVERY piece of equipment that came
into the plant had to be run through the department before it was allowed to
go anywhere else, manufacturing or office areas. The very first thing that
we did was to install a 3 wire cord set, and it went on from there with
megger tests, etc.
