[Johnson] Viking II revisited

One thing I should clarify about my recent comments on the Viking II.

The Viking II assembly manual refers to "two sliders" (adjustable taps on R13)
and positioning one of them toward the front of the transmitter, and that one
sets screen voltage for the 6146s. The other is positioned toward the rear of
the transmitter (actually toward the center) and sets bias.

However, the operator's manual does not show two "sliders." It shows only one,
and indicates that one sets the screen voltage, by supplying the plate of the
6AQ% clamp tube.

I had a Viking II (factory build) in 1958, for a short time, but never was into
it. Apparently the assembly manual is for a different version than the
operator's manual, both of them from BAMA. This one had only one adjustable
tap on the divider. Perhaps there is a model that has two.

That was my question. I'm content this one is operating correctly, but I'd be
interested in hearing from anyone with a Viking II that has two 'sliders' on
R13, to see just what they do differently! It could actually be something that
was put into the assembly manual and then never implemented, but that should
have drawn a lot of fire from kit builders who found incorrect instructions in
the assembly manual!

(Oh, I said "chassis mount" fuse holders. I meant surface mount, mounted on one
side panel, underneath. Didn't want to drill large holes in the back - ha!!)
