[Johnson] Johnson Viking 122 VFO

Has anyone reading this---who has cosmetically restored the Viking model 122
VFO---ever attempted to create a decal transfer of the lettering & script
work from the front panel...?

I'm in the process now of trying to improve the appearance of mine. It
occurs to me that while the entire front panel could be readily sanded &
sprayed gray, the lettering & art work (which is black) could be impressed
upon some decal media, & readily applied to the finished surface that way,
as a final touch.

 All that would be be needed is a copy-ready, clean original (or reasonable
facsimile
thereof) to start with---either a life-size photo/drawing of the front
panel, or "the real thing" placed atop a photocopier, I guess...

Has anyone ever tried this...?
