Hi.
I thought I might add that any time 10 Meters is open you will probably find
some Johnsons running AM between 29.0 and 29.1 MHz (the AM "window"). In
fact I just had a QSO a little while ago with W5JZ who was running a Viking
Transmitter and Hallicrafters SX-71 Receiver. I was running my Ranger and
Hammarlund HQ-110 receiver. It's amazing what just 40 Watts of AM will do
on 10 Meters!
73 from the "Beaconeers Lair".

users. I think that EF Johnsons command the scene in any boatanchor setting,
that's to the prolific number of products Mr. Edgar Johnson put forth since
the Viking 1 came out in the early 50's. I can't think of an AM QSO where I
have to run across a Ranger, Valiant, 500, or Desk Kilowatt serving as the
choice transmitter of the station. However, if you come across any specific
nets, I think we'd like to know too. Cal, n6KYR.

guys with Johnsons use more than others. Thanks in advance.
