[Johnson] NEED RESISTORS

I am building the swamping units in the thunderbolt book. one for my HT 
32's and one for my Vallent. it calls for  2 watt carbon resistor's trouble 
is there are not a lot of places to find 2 watt resistors any more. digi 
key mouser  aes do not list any carbons above 1 watt.. they do list the 
METAL OXIDE resistors in 2 watt. my question can i use these or are they 
inductive like the wire wound ?
