Hello ,
I'm looking for some advise to save me some time. I needed to replace the
25K 4 watt pot on my very early model Johnson Ranger. I guess I was
surprised to learn that I had to completely remove the front panel to get at
the nut holding the pot to the chassis. I thought the nut on the exterior of
the front panel would be all that held the pot in place--wrong again.
Now the panel is off and the VFO shaft seems disconnected from what ever it
is attached to or what ever it drives. I took the side panel off but cant
see anything. Is the shaft for the VFO capacitor just under pressure on some
kind of smooth surface and the friction is what drives it or do I have to
disassemble more to get the shaft reconnected to the variable cap? Thanks
for your help.
