There's no problem doing what many of you suggest with the valiant or Viking
I & II or any other rig as long as you are only operating CW. That is what
EFJ was thinking about when they recommended reducing power for novices.
When operating AM with plate modulation as these rigs are designed for, you
should always load to normal power input. This is to insure that the
modulator will be matched to the transmitter.
