All: I have acquired a Johnson Valiant II which appears to be in good
condition. There is a little deplating of a couple of the control shafts,
and some stiffness in several of the switches, but no apparent rust or
corrosion anywhere. It should make a good match for the R-390A.
I have looked for some modification data, but there seem to be a LOT of
places to look. Anyone here have a favorite place to go, or a "most
recommended" thing to do to this TX? It comes with solid-state replacements
for the 866s, but I am certain there's lots else to do here.
I am also interested in how to resurrect the beastie. I am familiar with
reheating the unit with a Variac to allow the caps to reform (some of them
look like they have already been replaced), but I am interested in other
steps.
Finally, I need to locate a manual if possible. Recommended source?
All comments, suggestions, etc., welcome!
Thanks,
