Just wanted to pass along my thanks to Tim W1GIG who operated with the
W1HRX Society call during the recent AWA AM QSO Party. Although Tim was
only able to operate less than two hours during the event he was able to
establish contact with 36 stations, a remarkable feat, per his submitted
log. All contacts were made on 80 meters using his RCA ACT-150
transmitter. See a picture here of his fantastic transmitter -

Keeping the W1HRX call active on the air is one of the primary ways of
keeping our promise of promotion as stated in the Document of
organization: "The purpose of The James Millen Society shall be to
provide an identity for the purpose of promoting the use, restoration
and preservation of radio communications equipment which exhibit design
or construction influences attributable to Mr. James Millen and
recognize the achievements he has made in progressing the state of the
art of amateur radio."
Thanks again Tim for keeping the Millen flame going. To others please
remember that the use of W1HRX is available to society members for use
in other amateur radio on-the-air activities throughout the year,
especially if it promotes our aforementioned purpose.
