Hello fellow JMS members. A few months back I was contacted by Bob
Burchett, WB6SLC regarding a receiver that was given to him by Larry
Tinkler, K6LXT. Larry told him it was a prototype SW5 that was
constructed by James Millen and Robert Kruse. According to Bob, Larry
acquired the receiver well over fifty years ago and unfortunately he's
not confident that the story might be 100% true.

Recently he sent me a preliminary article about this receiver for review
by myself and the JMS members. Therefore, I am offering to email a copy
of this article to any JMS member who would like to review it and
provide their expertise relating to the legitimacy of this being a true
SW5 prototype.

I'm reserving my rights at not presenting my review of this receiver at
this time. In part as I want to get an unbiased reviews from the
National experts in our organization. I will say that I do have some
doubts that this is indeed a prototype, but I will not say why at this
point.

So if you feel your quite knowledgeable about early National products
from the late 20's and early 30's and would like to review Bob's article
just send me a personal email, not through the JMS reflector, and I will
send you a pdf version of the article in return. I look forward to
hearing the views from all our National experts.

BTW, Bob runs an antique's museum out in California and has a little
video tour of it on YouTube. He does have some radio related items at
his museum and this SW5 will become a part of it eventually.
