[JMS] 'Tis The Season (for Sporadic E)

Hello JMS members,

Had a very nice QSO last night on 29.000 MHz AM with Dennis, K0EOO who
some of you may remember ran the W1HRX flagship station during one of
the recent AWA AM QSO Party events. This made me think it might be nice
to post a little reminder on the JMS email reflector. 10 meters and six
meters have been virtually wide open almost every day for the past
month, so now's the time to fire up those vintage rigs for the higher
bands! Check 29.000 MHz and above for AM activity, and also be sure to
checkout the 6 meter AM calling frequency of 50.400. I've already had
many enjoyable AM QSOs on both bands, and it doesn't look like the great
band conditions are going to end anytime soon.

Even with its lack of shielding, has anyone yet dared to put their
Millen 90810 VHF transmitter on 10 & 6 meters (or for that matter, 2
meters)? How about the Millen 90881 500 watt RF amp on 10 meters?

C'mon guys! No matter what make of vintage equipment you have for those
bands, crank'em up and put'em on the air. Don't let these great
summertime band conditions pass you by!

73, Gary - WA4IAM
