[JMS] Reminder - Next Weekend is W1HRX and the AWA AM QSO Party

Don,

Thanks for the publicity. I would really appreciate the JMS folks showing
up for the "Party." I'll try to get as much Millen-era National gear on the
air as I can to make W1HRX a good representative of the JMS.

At this point I'm planning to start out around 2100 Z, 6 pm EST, on 20
phone. I'll be on 14286 plus or minus QRM and most likely running an
HRO-5TA1 and a Viking II. I will stay on 20 as long as there is AM
activity.

I will then move to 40 meters, around 7290, where I plan to use an HRO and
an NTX-30 with its NSM modulator driving an SB-200. That particular NTX-30,
according to Bill Fizette, W2DGB, who passed it along to me, started off its
life as the property of Gene Sims who was Jim Millen's personal assistant at
National.

After things wind down of 40 meters I'll move down to 75, somewhere around
3880. I plan to use the NTX-30/NSM pair again on 75 along with an NC-101X
and an FB7 doing receiving duty.

And if Murphy should strike the above gear, I have backups including a
Valiant, DX-100, Apache, 32V3, Viking I, and HT-20 transmitters and HRO-50,
NC-200, NC-303, HQ-129x, HRO-50R1 and SX-28 transmitters. So I should at
least be on the air, unless of course another tornado comes by and drops the
power lines like happened for the Classic Exchange last September. In that
case look for me on SSB with my battery-powered Argonaut.

I hope to see you all there, and I'll be happy to send out a bunch of W1HRX
QSL's.

73,

Jim Hanlon, W8KGI
