[JMS] Grinding crystals? Is an acid etch possible?

I remember as a teen trying out different objects in my bowl of PCB
etching solution. I discovered that aluminum was very reactive! Hi Hi.
Oh those stupid No Fear days of mine ....... God must truly be watching
over me as I still have both eyes and all my fingers....
