[JMS] K0EOO Article on "High Power" Millen

Yeah it's worth seeing what voltages the supplies provide. I would
think they all should have HV for the sweep tube or dual 6146 finals,
LV for the receive and low level transmitter stages and some negative
bias (usually adjustable). Plus the filament voltages. So there is a
good chance no modifications would be needed and it would be a good temp
solution. I see via a quick scan of the HP-23 schematic on-line that it
has just as I described above and should do an A1 job with the 90801.
They list the HP-23 as +820VDC for the HV which may be a little on the
high side. An external adjustable voltage divider (big adjustable power
resistor - check the handbooks) might be best to bring that down to
+600VDC range.

I have a heath HP23 and a Drake p/w for the t4xc here. I guess either
would work. I just hate lashing something up as I would rather have the
right stuff. But I guess we will do what we have to do LOL

thanks for all the advice fellers
