[JMS] Articles on the High Power Millen's

It's just great to read the buzz on all the High Power Millen setups.
Great going all. I do hope to see some great write-up's in ER and the
AWA Journal in upcoming months. If you thought it was hard finding the
Millen 90281 HV PS or 90711 VFO just wait till all these articles come
out in publication. Everyone out there will be burning to build their
own "Millen" station. Will a 90711 some day garner the price of a
Collins 32S3A? Looks like they made about 1/3 the number of 711's vs
that rare S-line piece.

Any hoot, I would like to see some technical articles on your High Power
modulator designs for the JMS website. We have the area "Society
Articles and Events" set up just to present such material. My personal
feeling is that such an article would have limited use for those outside
the Millen arena. Especially those designs which are driven by the
90831 modulator to 100% modulate the 90881 amplifier. A general article
would be great for the paper publications, but lets keep the detailed
nitty-gritty for our webpage. The JMS site could be the one-stop
destination for those assembling a Millen station in the future. Other
articles relative to Millen stuff and even early vintage National are
always welcome. When we assemble these large transmitter sets it is
always interesting to see how others have worked the control circuitry.
My goal was to be able to single switch it all (PTT) between receive and
transmit. This can get quite involved for the big setup. In addition,
being able to go from high power to low power with the flip of one
switch would be a nice feature as well, i.e. bypassing the high power
modulator and amplifier. Ok, enough plugging for the JMS site, hi.

I've seen less and less of the Millen ham pieces on eBay in the past
year. Yep a few items, but much less than previous years. Hopefully
the back channels for equipment are working for all the JMS folks.

Hopefully I'll be able to work Dennis with his new power house soon.
Dennis is rather close to me, but far enough away to make late night 75M
contacts difficult. I'll need to hear him in the mornings or early
evenings. I hope you can bring the transmitter onto the Saturday
morning 3885 net Dennis.
