Hi guys,
For anyone who might not have seen my "thank you" email on the AWA
reflector, here it is!
> I'd like to take this opportunity to thank several people involved in
> the planning and implementation of the AM QSO Party and who helped
> make this on air event a complete success. First, all those who
> attended the informal planning meeting at the AWA Conference last
> August who helped streamline the rules for the event (too numerous to
> mention here) deserve a great deal of thanks. Next, a rousing "huzzah"
> should be raised for Ed Gable/K2MP, Dave Payne/KA2J and the rest of
> the numerous crew at W2AN for putting on the museum station as the
> east coast anchor station of the QSO Party. Guys, you did a fantastic
> job and your on air presence always makes this event very special.
> Working the Millen transmitter located at the annex is always a
> highlight of the event, and the first outing of the BC-610 transmitter
> under "battle conditions" was a thrill to hear on 40 meters. Of equal
> importance were the efforts of Jim Hanlon/W8KGI and "Doc" Khalsa/K7SO
> in New Mexico putting the west coast anchor station on the air using
> James Millens' old callsign of W1HRX. Gentlemen you really added an
> extra dimension to the QSO Party by giving all the participants
> something new and fun to strive for. I can't thank you enough.
> Permission for the use of the W1HRX callsign was graciously given by
> the James Millen Society and it's founder and president Don
> Buska/N9OO. Thanks Don, it's always great to hear one of the most
> famous callsigns in ham radio history back on the air again.
>
> Last, but not least, my thanks go out to all who took the time to
> participate in the AWA AM QSO Party. YOU are the main ingredient that
> makes this on air event so successful and so much fun!

Question for Jim W8KGI. Did W1HRX ever manage to link up on the air with
W2AN? Inquiring minds want to know!! It would be so cool if you did!
