[JMS] AWA AM QSO Party

Hi Guys!

Just a reminder that this coming weekend is the AWA AM QSO Party. It 
starts Saturday, Feb. 18th at 7pm EST (00:00 UTC) and ends Sunday, Feb. 
19th at 7pm EST (00:00 UTC). This is the only on air event sponsored by 
the Antique Wireless Association that is open to members and non-members 
alike. Go to the AWA web page listed below and click on the link for the 
AWA AM QSO Party 2006 for complete information and rules. Highlights of 
the AM QSO Party will be the operation of James Millens' personal 
transmitter from the '30s from the AWA Museum annex under the AWA club 
callsign W2AN, courtesy of the museum curator and fellow JMS member Ed 
Gable, K2MP. Plus our own Jim Hanlon, W8KGI will be operating as one of 
two "anchor" stations in the QSO Party (W2AN being the other), and he 
will be using James Millens' callsign W1HRX for the event. He will also 
be using a National NTX-30 transmitter once owned by James Millens' 
personal assistant. Jim's QTH is in New Mexico, so that will give the 
west coast members reason to jump into the fray. So fellow JMS members, 
crank up those AM rigs this weekend and join in the fun!!
