Hello all JMS members:

Just finished a complete restoration of a National Company SW-3 model 2 receiver--looks great and performs surprisingly well. To complete this project I need several components to insure it duplicates this famous receiver that James Millen and his engineering staff designed many years ago.

The main item is additional plug-in coil sets (a coil set consists of a RF amplifier coil and a detector coil). I presently have coil sets for 40 and 20 meter band spread coverage: National Pt #63-A and 61-A.

I would like to obtain the following additional sets: National Pt #64-A, 80 meter band spread coverage, National Pt #65-A, 160 meter band spread coverage.

Or alternate coil sets can be: National Pt #64, 65 to 115 meters general coverage, National Pt #65. 115 to 200 meters general coverage. These general coverage coils can be easily modified to 80 and 160 band spread coverage. I have the winding spec. on most of the SW-3 coil sets.

I know these coils are a very scarce item and I could wind my own if the National forms with the special 6 pin spacing could be found. I'm not aware if National ever offered the blank SW-3 coil forms for sale. However I found that a James Fred, of Cutler, Indiana, had for a number of years sold a duplicate SW-3 form. I called his most recent address and was advised he is now located in an assisted living facility and and no further information was offered. Anyone know if someone else now offers the forms??

I also require 4 pc. National grid grip Pt #24, 3/8" diameter and 1 pc. National tube shield, Pt# T58 for for the RF stage.

Please check your spare parts boxes and your collected hoard of items for that "I'll do it some day project". So, fellows, how about assisting an "old timer" complete this project. If any of these items should surface, I will adequately compensate you.

Best Regards,
Roger Zaun, W9UVV
