Hello All,

First, I agree with Don. I don't see how Bob does it. Congrats on the
NOS VFO Bob!

Second, my 90711 VFO is serial #358, has binding posts with the ground
labeled, and is not NOS (but was darn close), hi hi!

Third, Don brings up something that he and I touched on briefly a few
months back. One addition we may want to add to the JMS web site is a
serial number database for the amateur radio components such as the 500
watt amp, the four transmitters, both VFOs and especially the modulators
(am I missing anything?). My initial thought is that callsign listing to
correspond with component ownership should be optional if the owner
doesn't wish that info to be public. In putting the database together we
might get a clearer picture of when certain "themes and variations"
appeared in the serial number sequence (this applies to the modulators
more than the others). Between now and Rochester in late August I'm
pretty much slammed so I won't be able to get anything started until
after the AWA Conference. I'll also have to start teaching myself how to
put together an Access database on the fly, if that's the best way to go
for an online database (suggestions anyone?). In the meantime, start
putting together a list of the previously mentioned items you may have
in your station/collection/museum so when we do get to a point where
we're ready to start compiling you'll already have the info we need from
you.

Opinions from the membership?

73, Gary - WA4IAM
