Don't know what the Model 28 is, but a fellow AWA member recently recited a
tale of woe on one of the nets involving a Lamda 28-volt supply that he was
trying to use on his ART-13. Seems it was (note the past tense) a switching
power supply, and when he asked Lamda for circuit info, it was refused. He
bought a linear supply from Fair Radio to solve the problem.  If you want
more info get back to me. In the meantime, yours could work just fine for
years.
