Hey again JMS gang. If you ever wonder some of the costs for keeping such a great ham
service going like QSL.NET check out below what Al pays just for his connection to the
outside world. Please consider this if you feel prompted to donate to him for
providing us with a web home for the JMS.

We have 2 networks here:

64.238.2.0 is 4.5Mb and come to us via a 2.4 Ghz microwave link. The
microwave Radio and antenna is about 40' off the ground with just a
network cable coming down for the connection to the switches and servers.
This has been in operation for about 2 years and is really quite trouble
free. This network has all 4 QSL.NET web servers, a DNS server and the
mailman list server on it. It is using 3.0Mb of the 4.5Mb capacity. This
circuit costs $1150 a month.

63.238.179.0 is a 1.54Mb T1 on Fiber that we have had for 4 years, I has
the QSL mail server, QSL.NET incoming FTP server,DX.QSL.NET
server,WWW.SWL.NET, 3 DNS servers, some admin servers as well as my PC on
it. This circuit costs $450 a month.

I also have a Starband dish for incoming FTP traffic but it seldom works at
published specs so I just take what I can get from it.
