If you have not recently downloaded the latest version of your contest logging software, YOU MUST DO SO before Saturday’s INQP.

The INQP county abbreviations have been changed to include the state. Hendricks county, old abbreviation was HEND, new abbreviation is INHND. Henry county was HENR and is now INHNR, Hancock county was HAN, it is now INHAN etc. 

The change was made to conform with the other three QSO parties that occur on the same day, 7QP, NEQP and DEQP. These three QPs include the state in their county abbreviations.

N1MM+, Writelog, N3FJP and CQ/X contest logging programs have all been updated for the new abbreviations. The new versions have been checked to verify they work correctly with the new abbreviations by various HDXCC members.

The software support teams of these four programs were informed of the INQP abbreviation changes in January. N1MM+ was updated in February. The others were updated in approximately the same time frame.

If you updated your software after April 1st you should be OK, but to be on the safe side it wouldn’t hurt to download the latest version this week prior to the start of the INQP on Saturday.

Also, AD1C’s ADIF county conversion program should be updated by now. I will contact Jim to check on his progress. I will notify the reflector on the status of the update.

I notified Jim several weeks ago and he informed me he was in the process of making an update and would include the new INQP abbreviations.
