I have applied for a Special Event call sign to be used on July 27th from
Brazil Indiana. Should know something in about a week.

W9J - "Where's Jimmy?"

Not sure if I'll get it but here's to hopin'.

James Riddle Hoffa was born on Valentine's Day 1913 in Brazil Indiana.  The
man was a legend, a tough guy, a sort that demanded respect and to be
reckoned with.  He put Attorney General Bobby F. Kennedy in his place, and
made the congress look like a bunch of morons while serving  as President
of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.  He went missing on July
30th, 1975 and is presumed dead.

My stepdad was a Teamster and sometime in 1970 or 1971 Hoffa spoke at a
Teamster picnic in central Indiana and I was there.  The only thing I
remember about the picnic was the fact they had a swimming pool, and the
pop and hot dogs were FREE.  To a 10 year old boy in the middle of summer,
it was heaven. I must have drunk a dozen ice cold cream sodas.

So to commemorate the 38th Anniversary of his disappearance, W9J will
attempt to be on the air from Brazil Indiana, you're all invited.
