Hi Nick,
Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it very much.
Well I thought they were broadcasting Wx info because I heard the names "Miami" & "Bay of Alaska" besides a bunch of numbers.
Like I say, I was having a hard time tuning the station in & all of a sudden it was gone.
I am hard of hearing, using 1 hearing aid in my left ear instead of 2 (the right 1 died & no $s to replace the pair yet), that may be waxed up some, wasn't using the best antenna that may not have been orientated in the best direction or in the best place, & I am in NW Indiana.
So I didn't have the best copy on the station.
What you told me answered some questions & makes sense.
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it very much.
I will log that freq as a #s station & check back w/it when I have a better antenna up outside.
Very interesting indeed.
I have tuned in on an HF based marine Wx broadcast once back in the 90s & forgot the freq, which could have changed several times by now.
Happy/good Dx/QSOing/QSLing.
