The Bloomington High School South Amateur Radio Club K9SOU is collecting monetary donations to send to the Hands and Feet Project, a children's village in Jacmel, Haiti that is directed and operated 
by an area amateur radio operator.  Ham radio club members will be collecting donations in the front lobby of the Bloomington South gym at tonight's boys basketball game against Edgewood. All donations will go directly to Jacmel, Haiti to assist those children who were devastated by the recent earthquake.  Donations will also be collected at the game next Friday night versus Martinsville, and by mail.

Amateur Radio Club members will also be collecting donations at school and by mail through January 31st.  Checks can be made payable to Bloomington High School South, and marked for the Ham Radio Haiti Relief Fund.

The Hands and Feet Project is a 501c3 organization dedicated to caring for orphans and abandoned children around the world.  They established the village for children in Jacmel, Haiti in 2004.  

Drex Stuart, known to ham radio operators by call letters N9CIA and HH5SD, along with his wife Jo are part of the staff in Haiti.  Drex previously served as a minister in the Evansville, Indiana and Owensboro, Kentucky areas, as well as a chaplain for the Indiana State Police.  His son, Mark, was the lead singer in the Christian band Audio Adrenaline.  The band is responsible for establishing the Hands and Feet Project.  Mark was also a licensed ham radio operator at one time, and was also in Haiti when the earthquake occurred.

Donations can be mailed to Bloomington High School South, Ham Radio Haiti Relief Fund, 1965 S. Walnut Street, Bloomington, IN 47401.
