Good evening group,

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to pull out of tonight's net. Several
times in the past few weeks I haven't been able to run the net. I'm
sorry, but sometimes "stuff" happens.

My problem this week is I have most of my home station taken apart.
This weekend is the big ARRL June VHF QSO Party, so I have most of my
gear pulled from my home station and am in the process of rigging up the
Rover station. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, I have my Icom 746
as my primary rig at home, and I use an FT897D in the Rover. However, a
few months ago my trusty old 746 broke down on me and I have been using
the FT897 to keep me on the air at home.

I'll get the 746 repaired eventually, but with the economy the way it is
I can't afford to put a weeks pay into repairing a radio so it will have
to wait.

I will likely leave the FT897D in the Rover at least through field day,
so after this week I may try to call the net from the Rover. The only
difference you folks will likely notice is a better signal and slightly
different beam heading. But should be fun:-)

If you get a chance this weekend, get on the air for the contest.
Contest weekends, particularly the June contest, brings out a lot of
folks who don't get on the air often so the bands should be active this
weekend. And, we are all hoping for a big E'skip opening on 6 meters.
Last year we had amazing conditions on 6, lets hope for a repeat!

I plan to start the contest [1800z] south of Louisville in EM67, then
head for EM77, EM68, and EM78 on Saturday. Sunday morning I will start
out up north of Indy in EN60, then hit EN70, EM79, and EM69. It should
be a fun contest, get on and join us! I'll send out a better "schedule"
soon.
