Hey,

I know how some feel about a packet network being used for an emergency traffic, but I say lets give them support anyway.

The more stuff we got working, the better for all of us.

"There is a packet Bulleting Board on the air in the Indianapolis

area, K9CTB on 145.050. Neil has it set up as a full service

Bulletin Board and is located in or near Acton in the southeast

corner of Marion County. The BBS is connected via HF to a station in

Iowa, which is connected to the national network. There is a node

associated with the station, K9CTB-7 or alias INDY.

There is a node on the same frequency near 38th Street and Meridian

K9UY, Alias NOIRAM (Marion spelled backwards), which can link to the

BBS quite reliably.

In addition, there are nodes in Greenwood, W9DEW-7 and WV9V-5 in

Columbus, which can link to the K9CTB BBS reliably as well.

The Anderson EOC (in Madison County) has a two-port station on

147.555 MHz at 135 feet and 446.175 MHz at 80 feet

If you are interested in helping to develop an emergency

communications system via packet, please send me a message,

w9dew at k9ctb. IN.USA.NA
