We're probably better off to just leave well enough alone, since
given the cost of other types of special plates (where the actual
contents of the plate are reserved, not just the background
graphics), you can pretty well bet that *any* change will be
accompanied by a substantial price increase.
With all the vanity callsigns, etc., is it really a safe bet
that the callsign will stay the same year after year? And if
they change things so that we get update stickers instead of
new plates, what will happen to those with callsign changes?
By the way, ANY change that causes you to get a new plate
when you could just be putting a tag on the one you have will
result in a $10 fee... I considered dropping the college
plates on a couple of my cars last year to save a few
bucks, and found that since the college plates could be
renewed, it would cost me $10 to go back to a regular plate.
