Hope everyone can join us for the net Thursday evening.

My planning and prep.is nearly complete for the Indiana QSO Party this
Saturday! I will be camping on a nice hilltop near Leota, IN. I will
have my tent, FT897D, and some wire in the trees:-) The INQP is a load
of fun, even if it is on HF, hi hi. Get on and play along if you can!

The week after the INQP, I will be playing with the 6 meter spring
sprint. I'll likely be playing from home in this one. It is the time
of year for 6 meter E' skip to get started, so this one could be loads
of fun! Play along if you can:-)
*The 50 MHz Sprint will be from 2300Z Saturday, May 9, until 0300Z
Sunday, May 10, 2009.

After the 6 meter sprint, I will be in full planning mode for the ARRL
June VHF QSO Party! The second weekend in June, for me this is the
World Series of VHF contests. I plan on Roving through 6 or 8 grids in
KY and IN.

And of course, at the end of June is good ol' Field Day.

Don't you just love spring time? :-D

Greeting group,

I look forward to hearing everyone this Thursday evening, 4/9/2009,
8:30pm local, 00:30z, on 144.250 USB for the 2m SSB net.

Band conditions have been pretty good for the last few days, so I'm
hoping for a good turn out.

I spent a couple of hours Monday evening playing in the 2m Spring
Sprint. I didn't make a lot of contacts, but it was good to hear some
old friends. The spring sprints always get me motivated to get ready
for the June VHF QSO Party! Next week, the 222 MHz Sprint will be from
7 PM until 11 PM local time on Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

I would also like to announce we have come to a pretty good agreement.
Most of the 2m SSB net participants would like to move the time a little
later for the summer / day light savings time, hours. I think a good
compromise time for this will be 8:30pm local time, or 00:30z. So
starting with the _*4 / 9 / 2009*_ net, the new time will be 8:30pm
local, 00:30z. This is Thursday evening 8:30pm local time, which is
the same as Friday morning, 00:30 Universal Time. /*Please help me pass
the word around about the time change.

*/Also, there has been a lot of interest in starting a new 6 meter net,
and a 2 meter FM simplex net! I plan to get these started, however, I
really need to make some station improvements before I try to kick these
off. Currently my little 3 element yagi for 6 meters is only 20 feet
off the ground, and my only 2 meter FM antenna is a 4 element yagi at 28
feet. I'm planning to add twenty more feet of tower this spring, and a
good 2 meter vertical, which should be a huge improvement. As soon as I
can make these changes I'll try to kick off the new nets.

Now, if we can just get the auto industry back on it's feet so I can
afford to buy concrete....
