Jim,
You wrote, "The comments of Bob Burns, W9RXR, should have been a private
e-mail--not a posting to the group, which would tend to provoke doubt in the
membership of this forum."
I respectfully disagree. I am a candidate for an office that can & will
have an impact on amateur radio in Indiana. Therefore, the electorate has
every right to be informed about ANY issue which may affect how I would be
able to perform the duties of the office.
Frankly, I should have posted the details about my illness on this e-mail
list earlier. As Mike, AJ9C, stated in a separate post, I have been keeping
others informed about my progress via other e-mail lists. I should have
included this list as well, I simply overlooked it. For that shortcoming, I
apologize.
As for a "debate", there were several postings earlier this summer, both by
myself and by John Poindexter, on this e-mail list and on another one
discussing our respective positions. Also, we each have statements with
background information and goals & objectives on our personal websites.
John's website is http://www.w3ml.com and mine is http://www.qsl.net/k9dur
John said it rather well in another post that we are currently being
bombarded with a lot of campaign rhetoric on the national level. We do not
need to clutter up the amateur radio e-mail lists with a lot of Section
Manager campaigning. That being said, I will be happy to answer ANY
questions, either privately or in an open post, that anyone wishes to ask.
The ballots should be in the mail soon. Please get answers for any
questions that you may have and then vote for the candidate of your choice.
73, Ray, K9DUR
