A quick update from Bartholomew County. We are currently doing ok on
manpower on the ham side in supporting both the RACES and ARES sides of the
operation. Unless the weather system to the west of us causes more
problems, we should be ok.
If you are still interested in volunteering in the area, it looks as though
Brown, Johnson and even Jackson Counties might still be in need of help.
Brown County is currently operating a shelter at the YMCA (just east of
downtown Nashville). The contact there seems to be KA9SWI, but a quick call
on the 147.300+ repeater (136.5 Hz tone) would also allow you to contact
them.
Jackson County is currently operating using the 147.135+(88.5Hz) repeater
and has a shelter open at Seymour Middle School. Currently, this operation
is being managed to KC9LII.
If you have problems contacting either of these counties, feel free to
contact the Bartholomew County effort on the 146.79- (100Hz) repeater in
Columbus. Ask for either N9KVX, WW9A or AB9RB, who have been manning the
EOC. They will be able to get you in communications with either Brown or
Jackson.
Unfortunately, I do not know anything about the Johnson County effort and
will leave that to someone with more knowledge than I.
Thank you to all of those who have offered and/or given their assistance in
this effort, it is GREATLY appreciated.
73,
Brian, WW9A
