Lou Beam, N9VKH Silent Key. Before moving to Cayuga he lived in Homecroft,
Indiana which is a small suburb on the south side of Indianapolis. I believe
he was a former police officer for Homecroft. Super nice guy. He will be
greatly missed. I will post visitation & funeral info when it comes
available. Please keep his wife & family in your thoughts & prayers.

Cayuga town marshal dies after accident
STAFF REPORT
Commercial-News Danville, IL

CAYUGA, Ind. — An Indiana town official died Monday following a weekend
all-terrain vehicle accident.

Cayuga Town Marshal Louis D. Beam, 68, and his wife, Janice, were
transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis via Lifeline Helicopter
after the ATV they were riding on crashed Saturday morning.

The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department confirmed early this morning that
Louis Beam died late Monday night at the hospital.

Janice Beam remains hospitalized at the facility, a spokeswoman for
Methodist Hospital said today. She continues to be listed in critical
condition.

Deputy Marshal Ron Brink is overseeing a three-person police force in Beam’s
absence, according to town Clerk Amy Axtell.

Beam was hired as town marshal on Feb. 5, 1997.

The accident happened on County Road 150E north of Indiana Route 163 near
Clinton while the couple was riding the same ATV in a poker run for a local
charity.
