INARRL BULLETIN 010-2005
17:52PM 06/20/2005 de KB9BVN

Use Field Day to train operators in sending a formal NTS Traffic
messages. You can get 100 Bonus points for originating a message to the
Section Manager or the Section Emergency Coordinator. Plus get 10
points for each additional message you send, relay, receive or
generally handle during Field Day, up to 10 messages or 100 points
total. That could net you up to 200 Points extra for just sending and
handling some NTS messages. Use this as an opportunity to show the
proper way to send a NTS traffic message as well to new or
inexperienced operators.

The Indiana Traffic Net will be in operation during field day at
21:30UTC on Saturday and 13:30UTC on Sunday on 3.910MHz. Remember you
get the bonus points for sending or handling the messages during Field
Day, regardless of when they are actually delivered. So use this as an
opportunity to train some operators in sending NTS messages.

Consult the Field Day rules at

 http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2005/rules-fd-2005.html

for all ways you can get bonus points! In the Field Day Packet there
are examples of what the NTS message could look like.

We, Jim Sellers K9ZBM the Section Manager and myself David Pifer N9YNF
the Section Emergency Coordinator, are looking forward to receiving
those messages.
