10 meters is likely a *MUCH* better choice for this type of
ground-wave HF net; it opens the net up for check-ins from
those with Tech Plus licenses (and Novices, too... if there
are any of those still around).

In addition, there are several low-cost 10-meter rigs available
(the legitimate ones from Radio Shack, Uniden, and some from
some less-reputable manufacturers -- like the ones that the
Pilot truck stops got busted for selling, but due to their
target market, they weren't all that cheap).

If I get a chance, I may see if I can hear it down here in
Greene County, although that's pushing it for distance
for that type of net.
