Greetings:
The Milwaukee Radio Amateurs' Club has a complete revision of the rules and regulations for their annual FM Simplex Contest. Although they are oriented toward the Milwaukee area, which is fortunate to have the intersection of four Grid Squares, the rules can easily be adapted for use anywhere. The event will be held Sunday, February 12 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. The goal of the contest is to encourage folks, especially the newly licensed, to upgrade their stations and find a life beyond repeaters.
Therefore, feel free to download the contest information from http://www.w9rh.org the Club's Web Site or request them directly from me, kb9q at arrl.net. The flyers and rules are also available in the Milwaukee Area at Amateur Electronics' Supply and will be at the January 7 Hamfest at the Waukesha County Fairgrounds.
Finally, since the contest is run on local time I would encourage anyone, anywhere to send in an entry. There are awards by band, for mobile/portable operation, clubs and of course overall winner.
