Attached is the report of the JOTA held in Warren, IN in conjunction with the
Boy Scouts of America Wabash Valley District Fall Camporee. This information
has been made available by KA9VEC, Joe Homier.
On the weekend of October 16, 2004, the annual Boy Scout Jamboree on the Air
was taking place. Thanks to the Huntington County 440 Repeater Group, the JOTA
station was up and operational with the call sign of K9DKB.
Setup began shortly after 8:00 AM Saturday morning at Salamonie Jr. High
School in Warren, IN in conjunction with the Wabash Valley District Camporee.
The JOTA team had the station up and running from 10:00AM EST to 15:30PM EST.
During this time on the air, various patrols of Boy Scouts had a chance to
witness Amateur Radio firsthand as they made contacts from coast to coast.
The Cobra Patrol of Troop 76, won an award for the best Patrol yell and for
demonstrating the best Boy Scout Spirit. Overall, the JOTA team worked with
more than 20 boys in six different patrols.
