This afternoon, February 20, the Indiana Senate passed by a
vote of 41-8, Senate Bill 109, the Regulation of Amateur Radio
Antennas. This bill which incorporates the essence of PRB-1,
prohibits any county or municipality from restricting the height
of amateur radio antennas to less than 75 feet above ground.
This legislation would not likely have passed without the efforts
of many Indiana amateurs who contacted their State Senators,
and urged passage of SB 109. My greatful thanks to every
Indiana amateur who took the time to contact their State
Senators and urged passage of this Legislation.
Thanks also go to State Government Liaison David Spoelstra
N9KT who has been extremely helpful to both me, and the bill's
author State Senator Rose Ann Antich.
The bill next goes to the Indiana House of Representatives.
Rep. Aguilera will sponsor this bill, and Rep. J. Lutz will be
a co-sponsor on the bill.
Keep watching for updates on the action in the Indiana House
of Representatives.
