Thanks for the update, David.

Here is the email I sent to Rep. Matt Whetstone's office this morning:

==========

It's my understanding that SB109 has passed through the House Rules and
Legislative Procedures committee. This bill would require that local zoning
ordinances affecting the height and placement of amateur radio antenna
supporting structures conform to existing Federal rules.

Enactment of this legislation would support the efforts of amateur radio
operators in the state to provide emergency communications. Amateur radio
operators provide essential back-up emergency communications for local and
state emergency management agencies and amateur radio is part of many local
and state emergency plans. In addition, amateur radio operators provide a
valuable service to the National Weather Service by supplying eyes in the
field which can verify severe weather.

Amateur radio operators serve their communities with no compensation for
their time or equipment. However, local zoning ordinances can hamper their
efforts by placing unrealistic restrictions on the height and placement of
antenna supporting structures.

SB109 is scheduled to come before the House later this week. I urge your
support of this bill.

Thank you.

Let's hope for smooth passage of SB109.
