The ILQP was great fun for Kyle (KC9GLR) and me. One of us was on the air constantly for 7.5 of the 8 hours (we exhausted our third 20 Ah battery around 7:30 pm. If we would have had more sun for the solar panel, we would have made it the whole shot! We were a "multi-single" operation and kept the radio busy! Our highest rate was 167/hour from 2335 to 0031 on 40 meters. All in all, we ended up with 765 Qs, 101 mults (44 counties, 47 states, 6 provinces, and a handful of DX), for a total score of 78,030 (with the phone only "penalty").

The only downside was we ended up with several ILQP dupes after 0000 UTC with POTA stations calling us on the "new day".

With any luck, we'll be able to make the trip to Kickapoo SRA again next October. Of course, lunch at the Beef House in Covington on the way was a "bonus"!

73,
Ken, KJ9B
